Today, Singapore boasts one of the highest concentrations of Chinese companies outside China, being host to over 1,500 Chinese enterprises. With as a middle ground for their global business expansion, Lien CERC aims to establish Singapore, and specifically NTU, as a key centre for Chinese enterprise research.

Lien CERC seeks to generate a series of case studies through interviews with entrepreneurs and site visits to Singaporean and Chinese companies across industries. These case studies will provide a valuable source of information for companies interested in a better understanding of the vast China market.

NTU students from related subject majors will be involved in the compilation of these case studies on a project basis. During the course of study, they will delve into the life stories of business entrepreneurs and their achievements, thereby fuelling their entrepreneurial spirit.

Lien CERC will tap into NTU's extensive links with the Chinese business community and government agencies, through the Master of Science in Managerial Economics programme, the Master of Public Administration programme and the Nanyang EMBA programme, facilitating expansion of economic relations between Singapore and China. It will provide support for Singapore companies in China through the sharing of experiences and business ideas, while endeavoring to understanding of the latest trends. Creating such a knowledge network, the Centre will help to shorten the learning curve for doing business in China.

Programmes offered by Lien CERC present opportunities for Singaporean and Chinese business counterparts to foster mutual understanding of their respective business environments. These are ideal platforms for cross-learning, business networking and knowledge creation in the areas of enterprise management and processes.
